Background:
I started processing color negatives
at the age of thirteen, having had the great
good fortune of a junior high school buddy who
had access to a darkroom. I managed to put
together a good darkroom at Allegheny College,
from which I graduated as an art Major.
I attended San Jose State’s photo-journalism
program, worked as a master printer and helped
found and run a small crafts gallery/custom
jewelry shop in Santa Cruz’s Cooper House.
I became a carpenter…
Three children and two grandchildren later, I’m now
a serious photographer again.
I now use mostly digital technology, which allows me
to afford a good ‘darkroom’, and create images of the
beautiful area in which I live.
